Sometimes there is nothing better than relaxing with a cup of tea and a stack of magazines or a good book. My tea of choice at the moment, aside from Green Tea and Peppermint Tea is the lovely Rosewater Tea - lightly fragrant and refreshing.
One of the best things about having a beach side bedroom is being able to hear the waves crash in each night as you drift off to sleep. I love the beach theme of the bedroom below and the soft hues with the natural elements used such as the piece of driftwood which makes a perfect ledge for tea-light candles. So pretty.
A little place of shelter surrounded by ocean, sand and sea salt spray. When the sun is beating down, take shelter in the shade. And when it's raining out at sea, take shelter under cover.
With changing seasons, skin tends to become a little dehydrated as it adjusts to the climate. One of my absolute favourite products which not only helps with this, but is just lovely to use anyway, is Rosewater Balancing Mist by Jurlique. Jurlique also has a Lavender Toning Mist which is great to use at night time - you really do wake up with completely refreshed feeling skin. The ingredients in Jurlique's products are all natural and grown on a botanical farm in South Australia to be shipped around the world. You can read more about them here.
I discovered a recipe for lemon and lavender cookies and I thought it sounds both unusual and delicious. Sometimes it's the most unusual flavour combinations which leave the most lasting impression. To see the recipe and other gorgeous things click here.
Our feet can sometimes be forgotten about, so I think all girls should pamper themselves and make the time to have a bath created especially for your feet. There are so many beautiful bath milk products available and essential oils which will help relax the muscles in around your ankles and feet. Sprinkle a few rose petals in the water and simply sit back and unwind from your day. Afterwards treat yourself to some luxury body cream - I love the Chloe body lotion - you'll feel completely rejuvenated!
The Winter days and nights are getting warmer and when I wake up to see a bright blue sky with the sun shining, it makes me hopeful that Spring is almost here - I can almost feel it in the air.
I like having a list of little things to look forward to buying and Bobbi Brown never fails to offer something deliciously delightful. Here are a few things on my current list.
I can't complain really because winter here isn't even that bad - I think I have only had to wear my coat to work once or twice this year -however, looking at these got me thinking about where I'd rather be...Oh, and notice that each pic just happens to have nautical stripes. Coincidence?
West Australian beauty Gemma Ward has stayed out of the spotlight since Heath Ledger passed away, but I stumbled upon these photos of her and they make me think two things. How fresh and pretty is she?! And, have you ever taken a mid-winter swim in cool waters? I dare you!
Whatever the weather, a palette of seaside colours is always interesting - vibrant and bright on a summer's day, soft and subtle when clouds are low and dark and moody when a storm is setting in. I love that each of the pics below are so seaside inspired.
